
On April 15, 2025, a unique exhibition "A Look into the Universe" from the private collection of Yu. O. Shevela opened at the Berdychiv City History Museum.
Yuriy Alekseevich Shevela is a collector, popularizer of science fiction, astronomy and astronautics, laureate of the prestigious European Eurocon Award (2022, Luxembourg), in the category "Best Promoter of Science Fiction".
The exhibition features over 150 exhibits, including original antique instruments and devices from the 18th and early 20th centuries: telescopes, sundials, globes, microscopes, levels, theodolites, kypregels, astrolabes, sextants, armillary spheres, compasses, compasses, protractors, rulers for various purposes, as well as books, geographical and star maps, and rare collections of postcards from mythology to planetariums and observatories.
Yuriy Alekseevich began collecting his collection at the age of 12, when he became interested in science fiction.
The exhibition “A Look into the Universe” in the exhibition hall of the Museum of the History of the City of Berdychiv will last three months.
