The large coat of arms consists of a small coat of arms, with shield holders located on the sides - two storks. Under the shield there are ears of corn and a decorative branch, entwined with a blue ribbon with the motto "With peace and goodness" (Ukrainian Z mir i dobrom).
The small coat of arms is a rounded shield, on which a blue overturned fork-shaped cross is depicted in a golden field, cutting off the red sector from below. In the center of the shield is the black outline of the fortress of St. John. Elisabeth, in the golden field of which is the red monogram of St. Elisabeth. Elisabeth. The shield is inscribed in a silver cartouche and crowned with a golden city crown.
The coat of arms includes elements of the previous symbols of the city. The golden ear together with the golden field on the shield symbolize the wealth and fertility of the steppe surrounding the city, the red field indicates the location of the fortress and the city on the lands of the Zaporozhye Army. The blue fork-shaped cross symbolizes the rivers Ingul, Sugokleya and Biyanka, at the confluence of which the fortress was built. Shield holders-storks point to the legendary personality of the Cossack Leleka (Ukrainian Leleka - Stork), the founder of the Lelekovka farm, which later became part of the city. The golden crown tower indicates that this coat of arms belongs to the city of the regional (regional) level.

Тяжелый металл, чернение, горячая эмаль на 2-х клипсах, накладка, двохуровневый
Большой герб состоит из малого герба, с расположенными по боками щитодержателями – двумя аистами. Под щитом расположены колосья и декоративная ветвь, обвитые синей лентой с девизом «С миром и добром» (укр. З миром і добром).
Малый герб представляет собой щит закругленной формы, на котором в золотом поле изображён синий опрокинутый вилообразный крест, отсекающий снизу красный сектор. В центре щита находится чёрный контур крепости Св. Елисаветы, в золотом поле которого красный вензель Св. Елисаветы. Щит вписан в серебряный картуш и увенчан золотой городской короной.
Герб включает в себя элементы предыдущих символов города. Золотой колос вместе с золотым полем на щите символизируют богатство и плодородие окружающей город степи, красное поле обозначает местонахождение крепости и города на землях Войска Запорожского. Синий вилообразный крест символизирует реки Ингул, Сугоклея и Биянка, при слиянии которых и была построена крепость. Щитодержатели-аисты указывают на легендарную личность казака Лелеки (укр. Лелека – Аист), основателя хутора Лелековка, позднее ставшего частью города. Золотая корона-башня говорит о том, что этот герб принадлежит городу регионального (областного) уровня.
