Антал Сташек (1843 - 1931) - известный чешский писатель-реалист.
Лучшим произведением Сташека является роман "О сапожнике Матоуше и его друзьях", созданный на основе повести "О сапожнике Матоуше" (1875).
О жизни чешского народа, о событиях 1848 года и выступлении крестьян на помощь восставшей Праге, рассказывает Сташек в романе "О сапожнике Матоуше и его друзьях".
