Description:

This textbook is a collective work of the Instructor-methodical Commission of the Leningrad Regional Chess and Draughts Section. The main part in the compilation of the textbook was taken by comrades S. B. Gottgilf, I. V. Zek and A. P. Sokolsky, as well as the chairman of the Historical and Methodological Commission, Honored Master P. A. Romanovsky, who, in addition, was entrusted with the general management of the work and editing of the textbook, carried out by him with the closest consultation of a member of the commission S. O. Weinstein. The method of chess is still poorly developed. The methodological techniques that formed the basis for the construction of this textbook are borrowed mainly from the direct chess and pedagogical practice of the compilers. There is no doubt, therefore, that to a certain extent the textbook is methodologically experimental, and the authors offer their deep gratitude to all those workers in the field of chess methodology who, with their suggestions and comments, will show the way to a more perfect solution to the difficult task of creating a chess textbook designed to "raise thousands of cadres of Soviet chess players.

Настоящий учебник является коллективным трудом Инструкторско-методической комиссии Ленинградской областной шахматно-шашечной секции. Главное участие в составлении учебника приняли тт. С. Б. Готгильф, И. В. Зек и А. П. Сокольский, а также председатель Иструкторско-методической комиссии заслуженный мастер П. А. Романовский, на которого, кроме того, было возложено общее руководство работой и редакция учебника, осуществленные им при ближайшей консультации члена комиссии С. О. Вайнштейна. Методика шахмат все еще мало разработана. Методические приемы, легшие в основу построения настоящего учебника, заимствованы в основном из непосредственной шахматно-педагогической практики составителей. Несомненно поэтому, что в известной степени учебник является методически экспериментальным, и авторы приносят зарание глубокую благодарность всем тем работникам в области шахматной методики, которые своими предложениями и замечаниями укажут пути к более совершенному разрешению трудной задачи создания шахматного учебника, призванного ‚растить многотысячные кадры советских шахматистов.
