Anatoly Limarev (1929 – 1985) is recognized as one of the most outstanding Ukrainian painters in the expert artistic environment. However, the name of this artist, alas, says little to a wide audience. Anatoly Limarev worked in the late 60s and early 80s, and his work, which did not correspond to the canons of socialist realism, was pushed to the margins of Soviet artistic discourse.
However, even today, the viewer does not see Limarev's work. His only solo exhibition took place in 1988, three years after the artist's death. At the same time, a small catalog of his works was published with an introductory article by Alexander Nayden - one of the few existing articles about Limarev. After the exhibition, about ten works were acquired in the collection of the National Art Museum of Ukraine.

Анатолий Лимарев работал в конце 60-х - начале 80-х годов, и его творчество, не соответствовавшее канонам соцреализма, было вытеснено на маргинез советского художественного дискурса.
Однако и сегодня работы Лимарева зритель не видит. Его единственная персональная выставка состоялась в 1988 году – через три года после смерти художника. Тогда же вышел небольшой каталог его работ со вступительной статьей Александра Найдена – одной из немногих существующих статей о Лимареве. После выставки около десяти работ были приобретены в коллекцию Национального художественного музея Украины.
