For words of foreign origin, an etymological reference is given. The second edition reflects changes in vocabulary over the 20 years that have passed since the publication of the first edition of the dictionary (1957-1961). The dictionary is of interest to a wide range of readers, as well as to philologists, translators, press and radio workers.
