In 1887 he moved to the University of Breslau. In his first work, (Fundamentals of Hygiene, 1879), he deals with issues relating to the hygiene of dwellings, canteens in charity houses, and soil contamination. 'Guide to hygienic methods of research. (1892); Hygiene basics for doctors and students. (1893). "Fundamentals of Hygiene", 11 editions were published.
