Уршельская хрустальная фабрика основана в 1858 г. И. С. Мальцовым. В 1918–1920 г. завод не работал. После возобновления работы завод получил имя Л. Троцкого. В 1927 г. бывший соратник Ленина попал в немилость, а Уршельский стекольный завод стал называться именем X годовщины Октября.
