Medzhybizh Castle is a monument of fortification architecture of the XIV-XIX centuries. The name comes from the location at the confluence of the Southern Bug and Buzhok rivers. Medzhybizh was first mentioned in the Ipatiev Chronicle in 1146 in the XIII c
Меджибізький замок — пам’ятка фортифікаційної архітектури XIV—XIX століть. Назва походить від розташування біля злиття річок Південний Буг та Бужок. Меджибіж вперше згадується в Іпатіївському літописі 1146 р. У XIII ст. Меджибіж належав до Болохівської землі, однак князь Данило Романович у 1255 р. приєднав його до Галицького князівства.
Пам’яткою архітектури Меджибізьку фортецю оголошено у 1963 р. У 2001 р. створено Державний історико-культурний заповідник «Межибіж».
Олеський замок – пам’ятка палацової і фортифікаційної архітектури ХІV–ХVІІІ століття. Перша писемна згадка про нього зафіксована в історичних джерелах 1326 року. Однак найперші укріплення на пагорбі, що вигідно домінує над місцевістю серед заплави річки Ліберція, були споруджені ще у XIII столітті, за часів розпаду Київської Русі на удільні князівства. Імовірно, що перший кам’яний замок побудував хтось із синів галицько-волинського князя Юрія Львовича - Лев чи Андрій.
З 1975 року в Олеському замку відкрито музей. Експозиція представляє вітчизняне мистецтво Х–ХІХ ст. Тут зібрано ікони, твори живопису, скульптури, ужиткового мистецтва. Особливу цінність має колекція скульптури ХVІ–ХVІІІ ст. та українського портрету ХVІ–ХІХ ст.
