The coin is dedicated to one of the prominent Armenian monuments of Crimea - the monastery of Surb Khach (Holy Cross), founded in the XIV century.
Obverse of the coin bears at the top the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine). Surrounded by floral ornaments, there is a khachkar (stone-growth), which is located on the territory of the monastery, at the bottom - the year of issue of the coin - 2009 and the denomination of the coin - TEN HRYVNIAS.
The reverse of the coin depicts the buildings of the monastery and the following inscriptions: СТАРЫЙ КРИМ/АРМЕНСКИЙ МОНАСТЫ XIV century. (left) and SURB KHACH (right).
