Vladimir Musiyovych is an active participant in public life in Odessa; in 1917 he was a member of the Ukrainian Central Rada. From 26.12.1918 to 11.02.1919 he headed the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian People's Republic. On his initiative, the government of the Ukrainian People's Republic proclaimed the autocephaly of the UAOC on 01.01.1919. In 1929, Chekhovsky was arrested on a trumped-up case and shot in Solovki.
