The commemorative coin is dedicated to the railway workers of Ukraine, who are deservedly called "iron" people. After all, in difficult times for the country, Ukrainian railway workers have proven their professionalism and dedication to Ukraine. On the obverse of the coin there is a conventionalized trident, the contours of which are outlined by the image of railway tracks. In the center, against a mirror background, there is the logo of the Banknote Printing and Minting Works of the National Bank of Ukraine, the issue year 20/23; above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, the coin denomination 5 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia; the inscription УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) (on the left).
The reverse of the coin depicts a train, stylized with the logo of Ukrzaliznytsia, breaking out of the encirclement; on both sides of the train there is a symbolic composition containing sharp points directed at it; at the top there is an inscription THANK YOU TO THE RAILWAY WORKERS! The motif of the reverse illustrates the real events of the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when Ukrainian railway workers risked their own lives to save people on the border of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. In pursuit and across the train, the aggressor's tanks tried to stop the evacuation of civilians.

Адже в складні для країни часи українські залізничники довели свою професійність та відданість Україні. З перших днів повномасштабного вторгнення залізниця стала “дорогою життя” для мільйонів українців, змушених евакуюватися до безпечніших регіонів, сталевим шляхом, що з’єднує Україну з європейськими країнами-партнерами, важливою логістичною артерією для перевезення стратегічно важливих для населення і держави вантажів.
