To design the cover of the Catalog, the image of a postage stamp and a card "Shchedryk. Carol of the Bells».
The Catalog page is connected by means of two staples. And we like this option more than the glued spine of last year's catalog.
The Annual Catalog for 2022 contains information on issues of postage stamps, blocks, stamp sheets, "First Day" stamps, special postmarks, stamped and unmarked envelopes, unmarked cards for 2022. This has already become information from the annual catalog of Ukrposhta to the catalog. However, the Catalog for 2022 has answers to a number of questions created by this difficult year in philately in Ukraine.
The catalogue contains information on the withdrawal from sale and circulation, and the destruction of the postal block "Nature Reserve "Medobory" and the art stamp "Oleksa Novakivskyi. 1872 – 1935». These Postage Stamps are currently invalid for postal services.
The catalogue contains information on the repeal of the order for the introduction of the postage stamp "Sich-2-30". The catalogue number of this particular brand, and, accordingly, the KPD and SHBD numbers, are "missing" in a single continuous numbering.
Does not contain the Catalogue of numbering and broadband images for the postal block "Medobory Nature Reserve". And, accordingly, all envelopes with this block and redemption "First Day", which are currently offered for purchase on various auction Internet platforms, are outlawed material.
The catalog reminds us of the revision of the tariffs for letter denominations of postage stamps, which took place from 01.01.2022. Contains information about the introduction of two new letters to the letter denominations – U and A. An image of a new standard stamp for printing on postal envelopes and cards, which has been used since 2022, is shown.
Finally, this Catalogue contains information about a special envelope "First Day" of B5 format, which is used to redeem postage stamps, blocks and sheets.
Information on the Presentation Sheet, which was issued in 2021, but was not specified in the relevant Catalog, has also been added to this Catalog.
Since in 2022 Ukrposhta suspended the centralized production of Card Maximums, the catalog contains information only on cards for Card Maximums. And, accordingly, the cards do not have numbering, as the CM had it.
In 2022, Ukrposhta repeatedly redeemed with special stamps in all regional centers. Thus, the eponymous section of the Catalogue, although significant in terms of page volumes, is not very informative. In 2022, there were almost no redemptions with special stamps for anniversaries of significant events and in honor of certain persons. You can also get information from the Catalog that in 2022 two new stamps with a transfer date were put into effect: "The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are Ukraine!" and "Lutsk. It's a nice discovery."
The tradition of providing in the Catalogue not just information on the issue of stamped and unmarked art envelopes continues, but also to place this information with visual content.
An interesting open question is whether it was necessary to provide information about the Presentation Folders for postal issues in the Catalog. The folders themselves do not contain information about the circulation, but their circulation is indicated in the online store. It would be possible to "legalize" their presence in the philatelic market of Ukraine by including information about them in the Catalogue and thus increase their status.
P.s. By the way, the Catalog contains comprehensive information on the issues of postage stamps by Ukrposhta in 2022. In particular, there is no mention of the postal block "Kateryna Bilokur. 1900 – 1961" is not in it. In the magazine "Philately of Ukraine" No. 29, only a working layout of this block was shown, but not the announcement of its introduction.
However, the private market of postage stamps of Ukraine offers such a block for purchase. And this is the forgery of ZPO, the sale and purchase of stolen goods, which should have appropriate legal consequences for both sellers and buyers.
