Shtompel Nikolai Dmitrievich (1951-2021) painter, teacher, was born in the village of Novopetrovskoye. He received his initial artistic training in the Fine Arts Studio (headed by A.M. Simonenko) of the Nikolaev House of Pioneers and Schoolchildren. In 1972 he graduated from the Odessa State Pedagogical Institute named after K.D. Ushinsky, Faculty of Art and Graphics.
Diploma work "Masters of the Land" (supervisor of the diploma - Logvinov I.D.) defended with "excellent".
He has participated in republican and all-Union competitions and exhibitions since the age of 14. He has four solo exhibitions. The works of M.D. Shtompel are in the collections of individuals and collectors in Ukraine and Germany.
Dozens of his students became winners of regional and All-Ukrainian competitions, festivals, graduated and now study in secondary and higher art educational institutions.
