Catalogue "Russian Antiquities. Crosses and Icons" consists of two issues and is a description of encolpions, crosses, icons and medallions from the collection of B. I. Khanenko and V. N. Khanenko. Scientific description and systematization of the collection were carried out by V.V. Khvoiko.
The first issue describes crosses and icons of predominantly Russian-Byzantine religious art in the pre-Tatar period of Russian history. Nevertheless, among them there are relics that predate the pre-Tatar grand ducal period of Russian-Byzantine art and are usually called "Korsun", while others follow this period and belong mainly to northern Russia.
Thus, in the presented catalog of crosses and small icons, three groups of relics can be distinguished:
1) Korsun.
2) Kiev of the grand ducal pre-Tatar period.
3) Old Russian.
The second issue is quite separate from the first issue in its content and gives a description of a new series of encolpions, crosses and icons from the time of the adoption of Christianity in Russia up to and including the XVIII century. In order to give a complete picture of the relics under study, the second issue also contains images of relics from other collections. As in the first issue, all crosses and icons are distributed by shape and type in 16 tables.
After the publication of the two presented albums "Russian Antiquities. Crosses and Small Icons" in 1899 and 1900, as a result of purposeful searches and research, the collection of B.I.V.N. Khanenko continues to be replenished. Bogdan Ivanovich continues to acquire new monuments. Items included in the collection are published on the pages of new publications. Thus, several items were reflected on the pages of the album "Antiquities of the Dnieper Region. The Slavic era (VI – XIII centuries). Collection of B.I. and V.N. Khanenko. Vyp.V." – K., 1902; and some of them were included in the pages of the album "Antiquities of the Dnieper Region and the Black Sea Coast. Collection of B.I. and V.N. Khanenko. Vyp.VI." – Kiev, 1907.
When working on the republication of the collection, it was decided to collect together all the published monuments of Christian themes from the albums of B.I. and V.N. Khanenko, on the pages of one edition. Thus, we have tried to provide the reader with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with and study the entire unique and multifaceted collection.

Каталог «Древности русские. Кресты и образки» состоит из двух выпусков и представляет собой описание энколпионов, крестов, образков и медальонов из собрания Б. И. Ханенко и В. Н. Ханенко. Научное описание и систематизация коллекции проведены В.В. Хвойко.
Выпуск первый описывает кресты и образки преимущественно русско-византийского религиозного искусства в дотатарский период русской истории. Тем не менее между ними есть и реликвии, которые предшествуют дотатарскому великокняжескому периоду русско-византийского искусства и обыкновенно называются «Корсунскими», а другие следуют за этим периодом и относятся преимущественно северной Руси.
Таким образом, в представленном каталоге крестов и образков можно выделить три группы реликвий:

В.Н Ханенко продолжает пополняться. Богдан Иванович продолжает приобретать новые памятники. Предметы, попавшие в коллекцию, публикуются на страницах новых изданий. Так несколько предметов нашли свое отражение на страницах альбома «Древности Приднепровья. Эпоха славянская (VI – XIII вв.). Собрание Б.И. и В.Н. Ханенко. Вып.V.» – К., 1902; и часть из них легли на страницы альбома «Древности Приднепровья и побережья Черного моря. Собрание Б.И. и В.Н. Ханенко. Вып.VI.» – К., 1907.
При работе по переизданию собрания, было принято решения собрать воедино все опубликованные памятники христианской тематики из альбомов Б.И. и В.Н. Ханенко, на страницах одного издания.
