In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the events of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921. and the first Ukrainian paper money, the NBU issued a souvenir banknote "One Hundred Hryvnias",
which reproduces the design of the Ukrainian banknote with a face value of UAH 100, put into circulation
October 17, 1918
In the spring of 1918, Ukrainian government decided to change the name of domestic money from "karbovanets" to "hryvnias", wanting to emphasize the continuity of state-building traditions from the times of Kyivan Rus.
The most valuable from an artistic point of view was the 100 UAH banknote, designed and
made by H. Narbut, which depicts a lush wreath of flowers, fruits, vegetables, wheat.
On both sides stand a woman in national dress with a sheaf of wheat and a sickle in her hand and a man in an apron leaning on a hammer entwined with laurel.
The inscriptions on the reverse side are included in a large cartouche of plant and fruit ornaments, and on the sides there are decorative columns. The entire composition is crowned with a trident framed by a laurel wreath. The banknote is made on paper with a watermark (image of a trident). Its dimensions: 80 x 170 mm.
The main image of the front side of the souvenir banknote is the 1918 banknote with a face value of UAH 100. (front side),
to the left of which there are inscriptions: IS NOT A MEANS OF PAYMENT (vertical inscription),

The trident is a historical symbol located on the banknote of 1918, and the year of printing of the banknote is 2018.
To the left of the main image (below) there is an optically variable image of 100 YEARS, the color of which changes from gold to green when the angle of inclination of the banknote changes.
Near the right edge of the souvenir banknote there is a part of the through element 1918 in gray-blue and a latent image 100, hidden in a brown-purple square.

На відзначення 100-річчя подій Української революції 1917–1921 рр. і перших українських паперових грошей НБУ випустив сувенірну банкноту "Сто гривень",
яка відтворює дизайн української банкноти номінальною вартістю 100 грн., введеної в обіг
17 жовтня 1918 р.
Навесні 1918 р. український уряд ухвалив рішення змінити назву вітчизняних грошей із "карбованців" на "гривні", бажаючи підкреслити спадковість традицій державотворення з часів Київської Русі.
Найціннішою з мистецького погляду була купюра номіналом 100 грн., розроблена і
виконана Г. Нарбутом, на якій зображено пишний вінок із квітів, плодів, овочів, пшениці.
Обабіч стоять жінка в національному вбранні зі снопом пшениці та серпом у руці і чоловік у фартуху, що спирається на молот, обвитий лавром.
Написи зворотного боку включено у великий картуш із рослинно-плодового орнаменту, а по боках – декоративні колони. Увінчує всю композицію тризуб, обрамлений лавровим вінком. Банкнота виготовлена на папері з водяним знаком (зображення тризуба). Її розміри: 80 х 170 мм.
