Collector of space philately and faleristics Oleksandr Vergun is a guest of ‘Listen to Violity’
Today is the premiere of the next episode of the Violity podcast, and this time its host Denys Minin talks to Oleksandr Vergun from Dnipro. Our guest is known to the platform's users as Alexverg. Oleksandr has been collecting badges and stamps for many years. His philatelic and phaleristic collections are united by the inexhaustible theme of vast space.
Oleksandr became a guest of Violity's podcast thanks to the fact that he told us about himself in the corresponding Google form. If collecting and history are your passion and you also have a collection to brag about, please fill out the form without delay.
Oleksandr became interested in the space theme when he was a child gazing at the night starry sky. Fortunately, his family supported his passion for collecting: his parents gave him new stamps, and his uncle gave him a collection of aviation-related badges. And our guest himself, by his own admission, did not miss a single Soyuzdruk stall as a child, where he could buy new postal issues.

Over time, the collection, which once began with two small stamps, grew and became more professional. More expensive, rare, and truly unique copies were added to it.
Where did Oleksandr find them? Which pieces is he most proud of? How can one stamp in a collection be more valuable than a hundred others, and what is common in collecting philatelic material and badges? Denys learned about this and other things firsthand.
They talked about approaches to developing collections, about the experience of buying on Violity. About the joy of searching and the wonders of pricing. About the attitude to the space theme in Ukrainian society and about the upcoming exhibition, which was hindered by a full-scale war.

How should the state develop space exploration and why is it important? Why does humanity need to explore space at all? A sincere and warm conversation with a passionate enthusiast of two collecting areas is already on the air.

The premiere of the new episode of Listen to Violity took place on March 26 at 18:00. Enjoy the show!
