Autograph and scale model collector Olexandr Tumanov – in the studio of “Listen to Violity”

Autograph and scale model collector Olexandr Tumanov – in the studio of “Listen to Violity”
Today marks the premiere of the latest episode of “Listen to Violity.” This time, its regular host Denys Minin met with Olexandr Tumanov, known to the community under the nickname INTI_MASTERS

He collects autographs — a hobby known as philography
Olexandr wanted to talk to Denys himself. He told us about himself and his collection in the appropriate Google form, and soon visited our studio. If you are also a collector and want to be a guest on the Violity podcast, fill out the form without delay.
Olexandr started collecting when he was a kid: he collected stamps, postcards, and scale models. He gradually bought items at the local market with his pocket money. His collection included rare foreign and custom cars.

Many years later, as an adult, he returned to his hobby. However, these were more interesting and expensive car models that could be signed by the authors. This is how his philographic collection began. Gift signatures began to appear on books, postage stamps, banknotes, and catalogs. According to Olexandr, this deepens the emotional connection with the item, adds value to it, and makes it more personalized.
Our guest does not hunt for autographs for the sake of his collection. For him, it is not about standing in line at autograph sessions, but first and foremost about interesting encounters and personal communication with creative people.
He says that a signature is like a QR code that plays a video clip of memories in his imagination.
Our guest recalls his native Donetsk region before the war and tells Denys about visiting the Old Car Land festival and his friendship with artist Viktor Zinchenko and auto historian Volodymyr Vinnik, about meeting Kuzma Skryabin, the Haruk brothers, numismatist Maksym Zahreba, chef Marco Cervetti, traveler Artem Surin, and the hero of one of the previous episodes of the Violity podcast, scientist Olexandr Provozin.
Why do children and adults experience collecting differently? What is it like to collect autographs in the digital age, when the distance between famous people and their fans has almost disappeared? Which autographs would Alexander like to have, and which ones does he regret not getting in the past?
You will hear many heartwarming stories and see many original wishes left for Alexander by people who are truly passionate about their work.
The new episode of “Listen to Violity” aired on Wednesday, June 18, at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy watching!
