The time capsule of firefighters from the USA surprised even historians
What can happen during the dismantling of an old building? Problems with specialized transport, lack of people, or an extraordinary find. As, for example, in the American state of Ohio: firefighters found a time capsule while removing the cornerstone.

For a long time, since 1905, the copper box has stored items important to the employees of this station. There were badges, lists, documents, newspapers and books. All of these items are planned to be stored at the Marion County Historical Society. And this will continue as long as our new station is being built. The objects found there will decorate the showcase near the main entrance.
After taking a closer look at the find, firefighters saw the original property lease from the Marion Power Shovel Company to the city of Marion, an 1878 invitation from the Delphos Fire Department to the Northwest Ohio Volunteer Firemen's Games. Also drawing their attention was the 1905 list of city officials, a contract between the city of Marion and James B. Luke for the construction of a fire station.
The list of papers continued with the Agenda for the Second Annual Marion Fire Department Ball held on April 24, 1905. A letter stating that the cornerstone was laid on July 20, 1905, and listing the names of the firemen who worked at the stations and at the Huber Manufacturing Company firehouse.

Also in the time capsule was a brochure from 1905 listing all of Marion Power Shovel's products at that time, membership lists for Hose Company 1 and Hose Company 2, and a copy of the firefighter promotion and hiring rules.
This find greatly surprised local historians and local historians. They could not even think that such a treasure was stored in their place. Although they knew about the time capsule, they were shocked about its contents.
