Cherkasy archaeologists are analyzing finds related to the housing of the 18th century
Specialists of the Cherkasy Archeological Museum of the Middle Dnieper Region continue to study the materials collected by the Cherkasy Expedition of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Among the finds are broken ceramic dishes, stove tiles, fragments of glass products, etc.

A significant number of finds comes from Cherkasy Podol. Most of them are connected with the "pit" of the 18th century dwelling. According to the researchers, after the collapse of the building, the cause of which is still impossible to establish - it was destroyed or dismantled, the recess was used as a garbage dump.
However, it was this "dump" that became a real find for archaeologists. After all, it was possible to find broken ceramic dishes, fragments of tiles and glassware there. Painted ceramic bowls, which were probably used by local residents more than 250 years ago, deserve special attention.

Usually, the winter period is the time that archaeologists can spend analyzing the materials obtained from the previous season. After all, before making a scientific report and transferring the finds to the museum, you need to carry out the appropriate work: washing, gluing, photographing with a description of all the artifacts.
From these fragments, museum workers hope to assemble household items and decoration of homes of the past. And after the completion of all the works, it is planned that they will take an active place in the exposition of the Cherkasy Archaeological Museum of the Middle Dnipro region.
