This Friday, the next episode of the "Listen to Violity" podcast will premiere. This time, Denys Minin's guest is historian Oleksandr Okhrimenko, whom the Violity team met at the presentation of a facsimile reprint of Fedorovych's Apostle.
Olexandr Okhrimenko is a PhD in History, a lecturer at the Department of Ancient and Middle Ages at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He has developed and teaches courses "History of Art Historical Expertise", "World Book Heritage in Ukraine: Attribution and Expertise", "Art of Ukraine in the XVII-XVIII centuries" and others. Since 2021, he has been an expert of the subject commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on history. He is a member of the Society of Balkan History (Romania), the Ancient Book Society (USA), and the Medieval Central Europe Research Network (Hungary).
He is the author of the monographs "The Daily Life of English Cities in the Eleventh and Thirteenth Centuries" and "English Fablio of the Thirteenth Century", which is dedicated to the same genre of medieval literature.

In general, the history of manuscripts, prints and books, as well as the history of reading, are among Oleksandr's research interests. During the conversation, the scholar shared his vision of Ukraine's medieval heritage, why the work on its return is so important, and what interesting things can be found in church old prints outside of the religious context.
