The Google Arts & Culture platform, which specializes in digitized images of works of art, texts or digitized objects of cultural heritage, will now have a new section. It is connected with Ukrainian culture.
The new project will be called "Nearby Ukraine" and will contain collections from more than 15 cultural institutions. In particular, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute, the Ivan Honchar National Museum, the Museum of Theater Arts of Ukraine, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, the Galagan Art Museum, the Saint Sophia Cathedral, the Lviv Historical Museum, etc.
Users will be able to explore more than 150 stories, more than 200 digitized 3D models of cultural monuments, virtual galleries and works of art in augmented reality (AR).
The stories presented on the platform help users learn about the lives of prominent Ukrainians — Lesya Ukrainka, Igor Sikorskyi, Volodymyr Vinnichenko and others.
This project allows you to participate in viewing materials that have been collected in one place for the first time. In addition, you can do it from anywhere in the world for free.
