"Shchedryk" - a new mini-sculpture in Kyiv

"Shchedryk" - a new mini-sculpture in Kyiv
On December 20, 2024, as part of the "Search!" project, a new mini-sculpture was opened in Kyiv. It is dedicated to cultural diplomacy and was created based on the work of the same name by the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych.

This is the 47th mini-sculpture that has adorned the capital as part of the aforementioned project. It "found its place" on the facade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

It looks like a swallow with notes on its wings, and holds a bell in its paws. There is a button next to the bird, if you press it, the melody of "Shchedryk" will sound.
In formulating the main message, the organizers were guided by the fact that "Shchedryk" heralds the approach of spring. A warm season that necessarily replaces the cold. And every Ukrainian is an ambassador of diplomatic identity.

“Cultural diplomats are us. Like the world ambassador of Ukrainian borscht, chef Yevhen Klopotenko, like comedian Vasyl Baydak with world tours. I urge you to be cultural diplomats of your cities and countries,” said Yulia Bevzenko, manager of Kyiv and author of the cultural and historical project “Search!”.
The mini-sculpture is located at: Mykhailivska Square, 1, on the facade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
