Kyiv is the capital of our country with a thousand-year history and a special character. On the eve of the city's day, Denys Minin was visited by a person who knows almost every street in Kyiv. More than a million people have walked the excursion routes she suggested. This is Kyiv manager Yulia Bevzenko

For 11 years now, Yulia has been creating cultural and historical projects that develop and deepen the relationship between Kyiv residents and the city. She gives tours to foreign diplomats, media professionals, donors, and influential foreigners, including United24 ambassadors.

Her longest and most ambitious project is called “Shukai!”. This is a series of bronze mini-sculptures, each of which tells the story of the capital without a guide. Previously, all of them were dedicated to the city's past, but starting in 2022, their themes will also touch on the present. The 50th sculpture is scheduled to be unveiled by the end of this year. And the Violity platform was honored to join the creation of several previous ones.

Yulia told Denys how she comes up with ideas for the sculptures for “Shukai!” and who she turns to for advice. How she defends her boundaries and finds a balance between the desires of patrons, the relevance of the project, and its social benefit.

The guest shared her understanding of the concept of a “tourist” and reflected on what can sometimes be annoying about the behavior of tourists. The host asked Yulia about the most and least touristy places in Kyiv and the tour she would like to take after the war.
There was also a lot of talk about tourist walks for foreigners. You will hear about one of these routes called Kyiv not Kyiv. How do foreign guests react to Sofia, volunteer headquarters, national memorials, and Diia?
Do real Kyivans walk along Khreshchatyk, what should Donald Trump see in Kyiv, and why should you start your tour from a bar? Is it scary to lead groups of people around the city after arrivals and how can a subscription service support your psyche?
You will have a sincere and warm conversation with a man who is truly passionate about his work. Enjoy the show!
