This rare 1971 Plymouth Barracuda convertible has caught the attention of retro car collectors. Five of these sports cars were equipped with a 7.0-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 425 hp. And one of them was put up for sale in the USA. However, the auction website says that after 0 bids, the bidding is over.
The seller set such a price, guided by the extreme rarity of this copy. Although not all Plymouths had such powerful technical characteristics. In 1971, 114 cars of the top version of this model were produced. And only seven of them looked like convertibles. However, only the five were equipped with an automatic transmission.
As for this sports car from the famous five, it was painted in Sno White color and complemented by black airbrushing on the body. It is impossible not to notice the white wheels with chrome elements. To improve handling, the developers added the A36 Performance Axle Package and chrome exhaust pipes.

The car, which is exhibited with a starting price of $2.75 million, has been restored twice, but most of the original elements have been preserved. Currently, his condition is assessed as excellent. And the mileage of the cabriolet is only 49,890 km.
Currently, the ad for its sale has a status of "reserve price not reached". This means that the seller expects to get more than the $2.75 million offered for the rare sports car.

It is interesting that this very car was already sold at auction in 2016 - then the maximum bid was $2.3 million, but the owner claims that the sports car has undergone a complete restoration since then. All number units are preserved, approximately 90% of the body panels are part of them.
