The Ukrainian postal operator plans to issue a postage stamp dedicated to the Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan. Perhaps it will appear in August.
This news was shared by the director of Ukrposhta Igor Smelyansky, and also showed the proposed design of the new philatelic products. On a burgundy background, a swordswoman will be depicted, who makes a stabbing blow or ink to the coat of arms of the Russian Federation.
It is clarified that it is still planned to think about the design, but there is already something similar in the work.
It is worth recalling that on July 27, 2023, at the World Fencing Championships in Italy, a Ukrainian fencer was suspended from the competition due to the fact that she refused to shake hands with her rival, a Russian athlete.
But, despite this, the Fencing Federation of Ukraine will appeal against the decision to disqualify Olga Kharlan. All Ukrainians and the world support the fencer's decision, because there can be no so-called neutral athletes.
