Joint-stock postal company "Ukrposhta" started issuing a new philatelic product - a postage stamp dedicated to the Day of Memory of Defenders of Ukraine. The postal set, which consists of a stamp and an envelope, is already available for sale.
This information was shared by the general director of the company Ihor Smilyanskyi. He emphasized that we should "remember, thanks to whom we can wake up and wait for good news both in civilian life and at the front. Thanks to whom our children will go to school again in a few days." The new postage stamp was named "Eternal Memory!".
The sketch for the image of the postage stamp dedicated to the Day of Remembrance was the work of the Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleg Shuplyak "Zhurba". Against the background of crosses and a flock of cranberries flying away, a grumpy Cossack-bandurist sits. He bows his head over the graves of his brothers. According to ancient Russian mythology, vyriy is an eternally green and sunny country located far to the east (or south, "beyond the sea"), where the souls of the dead live.
The print run of the postage stamp will be 500,000 copies. Denomination — U = UAH 12.00 (corresponds to the tariff for forwarding a non-priority simple letter weighing up to 50 g within Ukraine) + UAH 3.00 (additional denomination intended for deduction for charitable purposes).
Part of the proceeds from the sale of postage stamps will go to support the families of servicemen who died defending Ukraine.
