Scientists have criticized claims about two “alien” bodies presented by a journalist before the Mexican Congress. In a now viral story, “alien” bodies were presented before the Mexican Congress on Tuesday, September 12th. But is there real science behind this strange event?
The Mexican Congress was holding a hearing on Unidentified Aerospace Phenomena (UAP), a term now used to describe UFOs. Over the past two years, there have also been hearings on the UAP in the United States Congress.
During the presentation, a team including Mexican journalist Jaime Maussan and military doctor José de Jesus Zalce Benitetz presented two bodies – which appear to be no more than 1 meter tall and have thin figures with grayish skin and large heads – in coffin-like boxes in front of the Mexican Congress.
They said DNA tests show the creatures' remains are not human and that their bellies contain eggs that could be used in the breeding process. The duo also said the bodies came from Peru and that carbon dating shows them dating back more than 1,000 years, National Public Radio reported.
In 2017, scientists rejected the bodies, claiming they were made from modified human body parts. Maussan told Live Science that more tests have since been carried out, showing that the bodies are not human.
He also emphasized that these bodies are necessarily alien – they simply do not belong to humans. He later added that implants made from the elements osmium and cadmium were found inside the bodies, “a technology unknown 1,000 years ago.”
