The galvanized steel Bruinoil and Bruin Gasoline sign sold for $92,250, the highlight of the third and final installment of the Bobby Knudsen Jr. collection.

Each item in the auction has been graded, certified and stamped by AGS, a newly launched expert appraisal service specializing in antique advertising.

In addition to the Bruin Gasoline sign, a rare and distinguished Beacon Ethyl Gasoline service station sign from the 1930s sold for $72,000.

A Harbor Petroleum Products (Los Angeles) portello sign, certified AGS Grade 94, sold for $60,000.
