The National Bank of Ukraine presented a new set of commemorative coins dedicated to the world-famous Christmas carol "Shchedryk" by the composer Mykola Leontovych. This set, consisting of three silver commemorative coins, became a logical continuation of the "Ukrainian Heritage" series.

Each of the coins in the set is made in the shape of a bell and has a denomination of 10 hryvnias. The material of manufacture is 999 silver. The obverse of the central coin depicts a nativity scene with a Christmas star. The reverse of the central coin is decorated with a stylized composition of the first performance of the carol in 1922 at Carnegie Hall and the silhouette of the swallow, the main character of the song. On the reverse of the other two coins, there are stylized colored flags of Ukraine and the USA, a composition of historical religious buildings of Kyiv and New York, a golden lace background with bells.

The circulation of the set is up to 5,000 pieces.

"Schedryk" became not only a national, but also a world musical symbol, reminding of the richness and beauty of Ukrainian culture. The composition was first performed in 1916 under the direction of Leontovich himself and quickly became recognized as a work of a great artist.
Since each coin from the new set from the National Bank of Ukraine has its own unique design, it allows to depict different aspects and elements of the carol. The chosen topic helps to deepen the understanding of this work and its significance for Ukrainian cultural heritage.
