Mykhailo Zinko, the only restorer of antique cash registers in Ukraine, founder of the Ivano-Frankivsk restaurant Antikvarnia Shpindel and an experienced Violity user known to the community as MiZin, is the guest of the next episode of the podcast with Denys Minin.
He began to be interested in antiquities many years ago. It all started with antique watches, and now the interior of his establishment is decorated with more than fifty of their original samples. And not only that: collections of antique barometers, corkscrews, blade sharpeners, plumbing faucets, and even toilet paper holders can be seen by visitors to Antique Spindles. And one of the main decorations of the restaurant is a solid and elegant mechanical cash register from the beginning of the last century.

Antique cash registers are a serious hobby for him. Over the past 12 years, the collector has restored about 60 of them. On Violity, he sells fully working ones.
In half an hour, Mykhailo and the host managed to discuss many topics. What does the whole process of restoring an old mechanical cash register look like? Where do spare parts come from? Who buys restored cash registers and why, and what is the role of this invention in the history of trade?
