Collector and craftswoman Halyna Hafiychuk is a guest on the “Listen to Violity” podcast

Collector and craftswoman Halyna Hafiychuk is a guest on the “Listen to Violity” podcast
This Saturday, July 27, the premiere of the next episode of the “Listen to Violity” podcast will take place. This time, the guest of the host Denis Minin is Halyna Hafiychuk, known to the Violity community as gydzichok. She has been collecting Ukrainian antiquities for almost a quarter of a century.
24 years ago, her collection began with an old embroidered shirt. Today, it includes more than a thousand elements of folk costumes, necklaces, interior items, ceramics, and more. The collection reflects the history, traditions, life, and fashion of Pokuttya in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
In addition, for many years Halyna has been recreating old clothes, especially shirts, making traditional women's jewelry, conducting ethnographic expeditions in her native Ivano-Frankivsk region, and holding master classes, including one on making Christmas straw “spiders.”
The conversation turned out to be informative and interesting. Halyna and Denys discussed the criteria for determining the authenticity and value of potential collection pieces, how to store and exhibit vintage clothing, and which of the items is most important to the collector.

The guest shared her thoughts on how collecting has influenced her life and worldview, talked about pricing jewelry and the creative process, and gave advice on how to choose a Ukrainian necklace as a gift and successfully combine it with a modern or traditional outfit.
Don't miss the premiere of the new episode of “Listen to Violity” on the Violity PRO Collecting YouTube channel this Saturday, July 27 at 15:00.
