Adult games continue: the 916-horsepower McLaren hypercar was recreated with Lego
The McLaren and Lego companies presented a new project in which they assembled a life-size replica of the P1 hypercar from the constructor.

Unlike past cars that were assembled from constructors, this hypercar has identical dimensions to its prototype. More than 342,000 Lego Technic blocks were used for the replica, and 798 Lego Technic Function electric motors were used as elements of the power plant. 11 unique parts were developed especially for the Lego model.
Despite the fact that almost the entire car is made of Lego, the steering wheel and wheels are borrowed from a real hypercar.

The total weight of the designer hypercar was 1220 kg, which is only 175 kg less than the original car. However, it can develop a speed of up to 65 km/h on a racing track.
23 people were engaged in the assembly work, who spent almost 8,344 hours on it.

“It's amazing to see elements from the original McLaren P1™ brought to life in such a realistic way by the LEGO Technic team. I hope this collaboration will inspire the next generation of designers and engineers," said McLaren Automotive's director of testing and development, Ben Gulliver.
The test run was made by Formula 1 pilot Lando Norris, who made a lap at the Silverstone track in Britain.
