The ancient sculpture of the saint was restored in the Ternopil region
The sculpture of St. Roch, installed in 1795, was restored in Lviv. The procedure of restoration of the ancient monument lasted about three years.

The pedestal with the sculpture of St. Roch, which is considered a protector against plagues and plagues, was covered with special mortars after the restoration. They will protect the composition from precipitation, salts and moss.
Three years ago, on the initiative of the director of the Kremenets-Pochaiv state historical and architectural reserve, Vasyl Ilchyshyn, the restoration of the sculpture of St. Roch in the town of Zalizka (Zalozhka) began. Then he turned to the Instytut Polonika to have its specialists restore several sculptures on the territory of the Zalozets community. In the same year, Rokh's sculpture was sent to Lviv.

"The sculpture is quite unique, it has remained well preserved, having withstood the test of time, natural and historical storms. At the same time, this work by an unknown author, executed in the Baroque style, deserves high praise as a masterful work of monumental art," says the website of the Regional Center for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Monuments.
Unfortunately, many monuments dedicated to this saint have not survived to this day. Most of them disappeared during the USSR.

For example, in 1952, a monument in Kopychyntsy was destroyed by local Komsomol members. His image has survived only on old postcards, where you can see the figure of the saint on a tall column and a massive pedestal.
