A team of archaeologists from the Office for the Preservation of Monuments and Archeology has carried out extensive excavations in a gravel pit near Ham-Auberwil, located in the canton of Zug in Switzerland.
A recent study has identified a number of large Roman buildings and rooms that make up the complex, which extends over an area of at least 500 square meters. m.

Professor of archeology at the University of Bern, Christa Ebnöther, said: "Only a few buildings of this size are known from the Roman period in the pre-Alpine region. Also surprising is the relatively good condition of the artifacts."

In addition to the walls of the complex, the team found everyday and high-status objects such as imported Roman utensils (terra sigillata from Italy and Gaul), gold, coins, glass vessels, fragments of amphora, and a large number of iron nails from wooden structures.
