The passion that led to the record: the story of an Italian man and his collection of Coca-Cola cans
Italian Davide Andreani's journey into the world of collecting Coca-Cola cans began innocently enough during a summer vacation with his family when he was a five-year-old child. His parents gave him the first bank in 1982. The bright red color and distinctive logo immediately caught his attention. He had no idea that this chance meeting would ignite a lifelong passion.

Over the years, Davide's fascination with Coca-Cola cans deepened. What started as just a hobby soon turned into almost an obsession. He began scouring local markets, garage sales, and even online auction sites for rare and unique cans. Each can became more than just a beverage container; it was a piece of history, a work of art and a window into different cultures.
In 2015, his collection and the name of the collector were forever etched in the memory of connoisseurs of Guinness world records. According to a count confirmed on August 14, 2013, Davide had a record 10,558 unique cans of a single brand from 87 countries, the largest collection of soft drink cans of a single brand.

David has many duplicates that are not part of his collection, but they are very necessary when trading cans with other collectors. But they, like all the exhibits of the collection, are empty. And the owner of the collection did it specifically through a small hole in the bottom. If they are left full, they can oxidize or even explode.
"The most valuable cans are those that were made at the factory for a special moment. Like gold cans made for factory openings or special anniversaries. But these banks are very limited and very rare," explained Davide Andreani.

One of Davide's most prized possessions is a vintage Coca-Cola can from the 1950s with a classic design reminiscent of the golden era of advertising. The can's faded colors and nostalgic charm harken back to a bygone era when soda was a symbol of American innovation and optimism.
In addition to aesthetics, the Italian is fascinated by the history and cultural significance of Coca-Cola. He has devoted countless hours to researching the evolution of the brand and the role it has played in shaping pop culture around the world. The collector was often invited to speak at local schools and community events, where he shared his knowledge and love of Coca-Cola with others.
