The painting by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh "The Spring Garden" is planned to be restored by specialists of the Museum Bojmans - van Benningen in Rotterdam. During the restoration of the damage, the canvas is planned to be exhibited periodically.
After the return of the canvas of the prominent Dutch post-impressionist artist, experts noted that the painting was damaged. In particular, several deep scratches passing through all layers of paint. One of them even led to a through slit of the canvas.

The damage is localized in the upper left corner of the picture. This, according to experts, indicates that the picture hit something during the transfer.
However, according to restorer Marjana de Visser, the work of art is subject to restoration. And already on March 29, "Spring Garden" will return to the Groningen Museum, its original owner, who transferred the painting to the William Singer Museum for exhibition.

It should be recalled that the work of Van Gogh, dated 1884, was stolen in 2020 from the William Singer Museum in Laren. This happened during quarantine restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Then the Dutch police released CCTV footage of the theft. On March 30, 2020, thieves broke into the museum and stole the painting.
In April 2021, the law enforcement officers managed to find the robber, who, according to the results of the investigation, was sentenced to 8 years in prison. The picture was found only in September 2023. It was reported that the work of the artist was returned to the detective Arthur Brand, who was engaged in the search, by an unknown man. "Spring Garden" was wrapped in cloth and a bag.
